Cat & Dog Translator — an app made just for fun.
Last updated: July 1, 2026Pawlingual (the "App") is an entertainment app that playfully "translates" your cat's or dog's sounds into human phrases and lets you play pet sounds and whistles. The translations are for fun and are not a real interpretation of animal communication.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and the
choices you have. It applies to the Pawlingual iOS app
(com.burakekmen.pawlingual), published by Burak Ekmen ("we",
"us", "our"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.
Pawlingual does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email, or contacts. The information involved falls into these categories:

We do not collect precise location, contacts, health data, or your name/email, and the App does not display third-party advertising.
Your pet's name, species, optional photo, translation history, and app preferences are saved locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. If you delete the App, or use Settings → Delete all my data, this information is removed from the device.
When you tap "Record", the App uses your microphone to capture a short clip so it can generate a playful "translation". This audio is analyzed on your device and is not uploaded to or stored by us. You can revoke microphone access anytime in iOS Settings → Pawlingual → Microphone.
If you use the microphone/dictation button in the text field to speak instead of type, the App uses Apple's built-in speech recognition to convert your speech to text. Depending on your device and settings, Apple may process this audio on-device or on Apple's servers, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store this audio.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not sell your personal information.
The App relies on the following service providers, which may process limited data as described:
These providers act as our processors and/or independent controllers under their own policies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, their independent practices.
With your permission, the App can send local reminders (e.g. "what's your pet up to today?") and push notifications. You can turn these off at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Pawlingual or within the App's settings. Declining or disabling notifications does not affect the rest of the App.
Premium features are offered through auto-renewable subscriptions handled entirely by Apple. Payments are processed by Apple, and we never receive your card or payment details. We only learn whether your subscription is active in order to unlock features. Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
To request deletion of any diagnostic data associated with your device, contact us using the details below.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Because the App is designed to keep personal content on your device, you can exercise most of these directly:

Pawlingual is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including keeping your pet content on your device and relying on Apple and Google's secure infrastructure for the limited data they process. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The service providers we use (Apple and Google) may process data on servers located in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards under those providers' privacy frameworks.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App or App Store. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
